4/20

420 (cannabis culture) :
4:20 or 4/20 (pronounced four-twenty) is a term used in North America as a discreet way to refer to cannabis and, by extension, a way to identify oneself with cannabis culture. Phrases such as "420 friendly" sometimes appear in roommate advertisements, indicating that the current occupants are tolerant of cannabis users.
Origins and observances :
It is widely accepted that in 1971, a group of teenagers at San Rafael High School in San Rafael, California, calling themselves "The Waldos", used to meet every day after school at 4:20 p.m. to smoke marijuana at the Louis Pasteur statue. The term became part of their group's salute, "420 Louis," and it eventually caught on more widely. Many cannabis users continue to observe 4:20 as a time to smoke communally. By extension April 20 ("4/20" in U.S. dating shorthand) has evolved into a counterculture holiday, where people gather to celebrate and consume cannabis.

Yesterday was 4/20 (April 20th) :
-I got text messages at 4:20 a.m. in the morning that said “happy 420!”
-There were drug dogs in school that searched through the lockers and cars for drugs.
-Many students were high during school!
-After school many kids smoked at 4:20 p.m.
-Our school principal called us at home and told the parents about the meaning of 420.
-In the evening and during the night were 420 parties everywhere!

I went clubbing down town instead :-D

Today I walked into the psychology room...

Today I walked into the psychology room as some guys were setting up a speaker, a microphone and a guitar. I didn’t thinking much about it because we always do crazy stuff in this class, so I just sat down at my desk. Then one of the guys sat down on the speaker with the guitar and said: “Pia this is for you.” Then he started playing and singing this song:

“I could stay awake just to hear you breathing
Watch you smile while you are sleeping
While you're far away and dreaming
I could spend my life in this sweet surrender
I could stay lost in this moment forever
Well, every moment spent with you
Is a moment I treasure…”etc.

And then he got on his knees, took my hand and said:
“Do you want to go to the Prom with me???”

That’s the story about me getting a Prom date!

Now I can finally go dress shopping!!! Hehe
And my dream of riding a Limousine will become true too:-D

How to get bruised

As I expected I fell pretty off my skateboard. I fell yesterday while talking to Sal in the phone and not wearing shoes (I wore slippers). So it was a pretty brainless move ;-)
My elbow beaded and I made a hole into Rick’s sweatshirt (by “elbowing” the asphalt).
My neck hurts pretty badly too but I don’t want Sandy to know because she’ll freak out:-p She already saied that she doesn’t want me to do that anymore because I could break something, and I couldn’t go to prom then;-p
Today we practiced for the first time outside (softball), and I got hit by the ball about 3 times haha
Oh and do you remember this one church thing I went to around thanks giving? They have a picture of me on their flyer’s front page now!!!! Isn’t that hilarious????

Dogs

Someone once asked me to describe to her how Americans treat their dogs.
So there you go:
- At night they lock their dog(s) in a dog kennel (some times even during the day. For example when they leave the house.)
- Other people let their dogs sleep in their bed.
- Almost every family has at least 1 dog.
- They don’t really go on walks with their dogs; they just throw the ball for it and let it poop in their front yard.
- Most dogs can only “sit” and “come”, and not even good.
- They let their dogs bark a lot.
- …..
Certainly not every family treats their dog like that (mine doesn’t), but sadly most of them do…

Ah I’ telling you, it’s so beautiful outside!! And I can finally get tanner, though not too tan ;-) I’m in such a spring mood that I bought a skateboard in the used store yesterday, and practice now. haha

Softball

I had my first softball practice today and I wasn't even bad at it! :-D
Oh and we had a hurricane warning practice. I didn't even know that they have hurricanes in Minnesota! ;-/

snow in april?!

yup it's snowing outside.

Aah otherwise I don’t really know what to write… We’ll have softball practice for the first time tomorrow…
Jake (the dog) just brought me a razor! Isn’t that weird?
LOL all the Valley Girls (blond, miniskirts…) look so ludicrous now that they came back from Mexico!! I’m talking about them being too tan. In winter they all went to the tanning booth and then they lay in the sun in Mexico and noooow they’re pretty much black haha I should really try to get a picture of them…

Baseballgame

Yesterday was the opening game of the baseball season, and because I have connections ;-) I got a ticket! The Twins (our team) played against the Orioles, and certainly won 7:4 :-D
It was fun to watch, though I prefer soccer, hockey and basketball (u so zimlech jedes angere spiu wos git) but I haven’t reeeeally got the rules yet, so it might change.
So I tried to act like a real American with my cap, my finger, the dome dog (hot dog that they sell in the DOME), the XXL coke….
